San Antone
Brand identity, merchandise and signage for San Antone by Bludso’s BBQ. A Texan BBQ restaurant located in Crown Melbourne.
The San Antone brand embodies the spirit of Texas with a gutsy southwestern swagger and a legacy of cowboy culture.
Kevin Bludso, owner of iconic Bludso’s BBQ, brings his unique flavours to San Antone by Bludso’s BBQ – exclusive to Crown Melbourne. Kevin is a third-generation pit master whose proud barbecue tradition begins with his family – they’ve been barbecuing for over a century. His granny, a Texan native, taught him how to smoke brisket and ribs using her own secret recipes when he was just nine years old. To get his genuine Texan taste just right, a combination of handpicked woods, as well as natural charcoal, are stacked in an authentic smoker and cooked for 14 hours. The San Antone by Bludso’s BBQ brand is a modern take on cattle branding irons and plays on the use of neon in Texas BBQ steak houses. It has multiple applications across distinctively BBQ themed iconography: a cleaver, pig, cow, chicken and lamb. The colour palette is made of bold colours: Black representing the charcoal and red the glow of the BBQ.
